Here's a pic of my new skimmer that will be taking care of my 280g. The tank will be in next week. I can't wait to get this build going... now to just get a house! LOL!

I remember building one something like that back in the 70's...but it wasn't to be used for skimming!!!! LOL!!
Is that the door prize skimmer, Steve?

That's a big one. Does that pipe extend all the way through your roof?

Ha, look right behind it. There's a piece of cardboard tube from present wrapping. The riser tube is longer than it is! Two words, TALL STAND. :) Can't wait to see what you have in store for us...

Looks more like one of those potato launchers...

That's a serious skimmer... looks like there's two venturi? But I am curious why that pipe is so long.

This is the 500g+ from Reef Octopus. I traded the 210g that I won at the meeting for this one + $$ to AD, who donated the original. This thing holds more than 5g in the chamber and almost 1g of skimmate. I hope this thing doesn't suck any of my corals into that thing! LOL! Can't wait to see this thing running!

Mike, I'll keep you in mind but I think my wife is going to trade me her 110g for my 135g, so she'll probably use that skimmer.
