I don't have a QT tank so thats out of the question and it looks like he's not eating at all does anyone of have any suggestions?

If anyone wants to QT this fish and keep him, if not I'm thinking of terminating him. I live in Cedar Park and if someone wants him let me know

..... if not I'm thinking of terminating him.......
I think that is a little irresponsible,, if you believe has has ich and don't want him,, take him to a LFS that can quarantine him

Not trying to be irresponsible but since i have a full schedule tomorrow thats out of the question and don't want my entire investment of fish infected.

Every fish has ick, but when they get stressed it breaks out. Every tang I have ever purchased gets ick for a bit until it gets situated. I agree in that killing it because it is stressed is irresponsible. Ick is easily treated without putting it in a QT tank, keep your water quality up and feed, feed, feed.

The fish is not eating and it's covered with white spots all over. I've observed this fish for hours now and it looks bad.
It looks like i will stop by the LFS in the am and see if they will take just don't want to risk all my other fish.

Understandable, see if the LFS can help you out

dont give up on the fella.
like everyone is saying...feed feed feed..could also try soaking food in garlic
i have yet to lost a tang and they have all has ick at one time or another..just feed, use garlic, also you could try raising the temp of the tank to at least 80
knock on wood...i prob just ended my streak by saying that

One golden rule which I am not sure if it was followed here was, make sure the fish you are buying is eating very well! Golden rule #2 (this one is very hard) Never add a new fish to a well established tank without quarantine first to make sure he is eating and doesn't have parasites.($300 worth of fish wiped out by 1 $20 fish) If you can't do number two than leave the fish in the fish store a while until it has had time to eat like a pig and build up an immune system. This post was not meant to harpoon or bash anyone, please I hope no one takes it that way. I am not with out faults, I traded some store credits the other day at a fish store to take a fish home that I knew would die if he stayed at the fish store. We are fighting Ich and a few more parasites but with him eating I feel like he/she has a chance.

My Blue hippo just is going through a small bout with ich. It has been a week and it is disappearing. It became stressed when I added 50 more lbs of rock to the tank and rearranged everything not to mention new fish in the tank around the same time. I just made sure she was eating well and nice and fat. Everything has been fine. Luckily i havnt had to courantine any of my fish because everything ive bought has been from fellow maastards :) and were in great care from the get go.
Everyone make a mental note: If you buy/have a tang you will eventually have to deal with ich ;)
