ok so like the title says how can i tell if my 29 gallon bowfront is tempered or not thanks

Well, the bottom of my tank says tempered glass....do not drill!

if you drill it and it shatters....
no, really you can call the manufacturer, but I would put money on it being tempered

Holy smoke, when I saw the title of this thread my first instict was to be a smartalek and say "drill the bottom, if it cracks it is temepred." Misti beat me to it.

Its probably tempered in the bottom and not in the back. Thats 99% of tanks.

over on nano reef i was told most tanks under 55 gallons are not tempered

If you can get a hold of some 'Polarized' sunglasses, put them on and look at the tank. if the glass looks wierd, then it is tempered. By wierd, I mean, if you can see blurry squares or dots within the glass then you are out of luck. That's another easy way...

How do they make tempered glass?

There is an explanation on the link below. Basically it is heated and then cooled rapidly.
