ok my new 20l has been going great except for the fact that about a week ago my clowns started getting ick. caught them and gave them both freshwater dips by the next day it had completly gone away. now im noticing that it kinda started coming back, ive been changing out four gallons of water every week and they have been eating of a mix of brine shrimp, blood worms, and that frozen sea weed or watever. its just the clowns that are getting it my fire fish an scooter blenny are fine. my question is, is there any anything that i can mix with the food to boost their immune system? i thought about buying the kent garlic but i thought that was only to help new fish to eat, any suggestions?

Water quality and food. Keep them healthy, and they will be able to fight in on their own. My opinion is that the problem with FW dips is that it stresses them out.

I'm not big on garlic, personally, but others swear by it. Never did anything for my fish.

First question I would ask do you have a heater? With the funky hot and cold days we have had this week if your aquarium temperature is fluctuating this could be the cause. The problems of small aquariums is stabilization. Are you using RO water from a good RO system? Check your salinity. I also feed food soaked with garlic.

My 6" Blue hippo just came down with ich. My problem is that I have a 210g so its almost impossible to catch it and I cant introduce a cleaner fish because of the Moray eel and triggers. Ive been feeding Macro Algea, Dried Algea with Garlic and Good quality flake. I also raised the temp a couple of degrees. I think she came down with it because of temp flucs and recently rearranging more rock and adding more fish. Still eats like a pig so hopefully all ends well. Major negative is that I now have the crap in my tank so Im going to do frquent water changes once I notice the spots are gone to try and clean the sand bed the best I can.

cool yeah the water quality is good and im using ro water that ive always bought from those windmill things, i have a heater but it only goes on at night because if not both the light and the heater on get the water very very warm, so it only goes on at night wen the light doesnt keep the water warm

As long as she's eating, she should be fine. There's really no way to get the larvae out of your tank... Even UV only kills some of them.

yea I was proud of myself because I hadnt had ich before in my tanks, but id never had tangs before either. And anyone and everyone with tangs will eventually get it. From many articles ive read ich is just reality; even if you do not see it on your fish its most likely in your tank. Oh well, the fight will go on.

You might consider getting some Beta Glucan (http://www.marineaquariumadvice.com/beta_glucan_biological_defense_modulator.html) from the health food store and adding it to the food.

cool thanks man, and now another problem it looks like my purple condy might have stung my clown? its just under this rock and when it comes out to eat it looks like it has some skin that is kinda scratched off on his face area? i dunno wat it is, hes eating fine and everything just kinda stays under that rock though
