For in sump use, it says it only needs a 6 1/4in. by 5 1/2in. footprint. Is that correct? Seems like it would need more with the pump on it.

I run css65's in the sumps of both of my tanks (40g, and a 24g). The "footprint" is probably about the dimensions stated above. However, once you install the pump they take up about 9" x 9". They are great little skimmers btw, 50 bucks is a steal!!

With the pump I had it in a 10" x 8" compartment of a 10 gallon sump/fuge.
