View Full Version : 135g Re-do
BIGBIRD123
Thu, 22nd Nov 2007, 11:40 PM
Just started the re-do of my 135g, so that my 11" Lunar Wrasse and my 9" Crosshatch Trigger could swim around. I had approx. 225# of LR in there and it was kind of crowded. So, I purchase about 38# of Tonga branch and Fusion branch to aquascape with. I will post a few pix tomorrow that will include before, during and after pix. This has been a lot of work but I want everyone to see what hard work can produce.
I used my frag tank, a rubbermaid tote and my 65g tall to hold most of the inhabitants. I also had to put a few things in my wife's (MRSBIGBIRD123) 110g and my son's (lil'bird123) 30g cube. The fish went into the 65 along with a few rocks, my Koralia 4 and a phosban reactor that returns about 6" above the water for oxygenation.
I will begin posting pix tomorrow.....stay tuned.

How much of tank water will you be keeping? Will you be doing a large water change?

PS. where did you get all that big tonga branch at? Everywhere i go just has little pieces of it less than 6-8" long and my tank isn't near big enough to be able to order those large online packages.

Looks crazy now, but those fish have tons of swimming canals. If the corals had to time to grow in it would be awesome, but we know what tank is coming.

Kind of disappointed because some of the corals suffered by all this but looking forward to getting the big 1 up and running...looks like I'm gonna have to go on a coral buy trip? LOL!

Well, disaster struck again! I guess I should leave well enough alone. One of the tubs I had my corals in got a little warm because of a (thought it was good!) @#$%^&* heater! Now about half of my SPS is white. I don't know how much more I can take. This is so depressing a week before the meeting at my house. I guess you guys will get to see the down-side of changes...

Sorry to hear about that, Steve. Is there any hope of them coming back, or was there a lot of tissue loss? LMK if I can bring ya anything Sunday

Mike and MissT, thanks for the offer but I think I'm going to leave things alone for now until I get the 280 up and running. Seems like changing things is not one of my best events. I would rather be empty for now, than kill anything else in the next move. I might hit you guys up after the big set-up....(hint...hint).

I feel for you man! That tonga is awesome though. It will totally be worth the temporary setback with the corals in the long-run. Moby and Tank look awesome too. I hope most of your corals eventually bounce back.

Aww Steve, sorry to hear about the coral loss. I think the Tonga is great. Do they like to swim in and out of it?
