Will this skimmer work?

It's a Rio Nano Skimmer.

I was wondering if anyone has heard anything about these, I'm looking for a cheap HOB skimmer for my 20 gallon.

Not the best skimmer but should work fine in a 20gal. If you can find one go with an Aqua C remora nano skimmer!!!

Thats what I want, but can't really afford it now. I plan on using one when I start up my 36 gallon.

pick up a used backpak, less than $50 and isnt affected by evaporation.

I've got two of the Rio Nano's on my two 20 gallons and they do a good job. One of the tanks is a nano-reef that is FULL of corals and probably too many fish and everything in the tank is growing, spreading and reproducing like crazy. AD carries these and have had good reports about them as well.

I have this Rio Nano Skimmer and I have had it running for about a month now. I am very pleased with it, although it is my first skimmer(actually I had the CurrentUSA Fission Skimmer, but it worked so poorly I don't count it). It is producing a a cup of skimmate every5-7 days on my 29 gallon tank. This tank has been up for almost 3 months now, and isn't really stocked yet. Just 26lbs of liverock, a blenny, a damsel, and the cleaning crew. It was a tough one to get this thing dialed in, and it took to small almost free mods. First off, turn it on and let it run for a full 24 hours without adjusting it. Second, when it comes time to dial it in you find you have 2 real problems...Micro Bubbles in the tank, and keeping the cup from filling up with water. The venturi is way over sensitive.---Resolution: The microbubbles will be greatly reduced if you remove the baffle mechanism, and insert a piece of filter foam in the return. Cut a narrow strip, insert it in the front half of the return chamber, and hang it right down the return. After about a week the microbubbles will have disappeared. the next mod is easy as well, just cut a piece of air line and purchase an air adjustment valve if you don't have one around(.99 cents). connect the airline to the end of the venturi, and the valve to the air hose. It is a little loud at first, but after the mods it is almost silent. FOR THE $35.00 i PAID AT MY LOCAL SHOP, I COULD IMAGINE A BETTER BANG FOR YOUR BUCK NANO SKIMMMER. If this thing went out after a year and you had to buy another one, wouldn't you still be 60 dollars ahead on the next cheapest nano skimmer?
