I used to put my food in a net and he would swim right to the net to catch what was in it. Once he gets used to it, add krill in with the fish too, and then feed. Then just ween him off of the fish! It may take some time, but it should work well!

what kind of fish do you put in the net with the krill? mine is a full grown already when i got him . The first couple day he would took frozen food, but now he only eats feeder shrimp. It was too slow to get to the frozen(so everybody else would beat him to it).

I just got feeder fish from the store. They are live fish, you just have to fool it into thinking it is live....

ask ~TG~ she had a whole tank of 'em. She could probably help you!

get a long skewer and stab on a frozen silverside... then shake it around to make it look like it's swimming, that will usually get them. If that works, you can eventually get him trained enough to understand that when you come around, he gets food. Also, make sure you aren't feeding too often, because these predators don't typically eat more than a couple times a week, but it's a lot at once. If you don't have any luck at all, maybe think about getting around 30 ghost shrimp at a time and setting up a bucket with a sponge filter or airstone in it. Feed the ghost shrimp a marine pellet food, and when they're gut packed, feed them to the lion. That should be the most nutritious live food you could give him.
