The main breaker of my house keeps tripping. I need an electrician to figure it out. I don't want to get rid of a tank!

Thanks
James

Hey James, I have a friend who's not in the hobby, but he is a certified Journeyman and might be willing to come check it out. He runs a crew M-F, but I can find out tomorrow if he'd be interested in coming out to your house and checking your circuits. He usually only charges a six pack lol!

Sweet misti thank would be cool. I have read about the problem and I don't think it is the end of the world. I just don't have the knowledge to not burn down the house or kill myself.

Thank you

well, im limited in my knowledge of electrics, but my experience is if you have a ton of stuff on one outlet, you might be going over the rated amperage for that outlet. try relocating some of your plugs to another outlet. get an extension chord, spread the loaad between 2 separate circuts. see if that does it. if not, you have a more serious problem.

it may be the breaker itself. not long after moving into our house (less than a year after it was built), the main breaker kept kicking. the house was still under warrantee, so when they came out to check it out, they found the connections slightly loose on the breaker. this was causing it to heat up and kick. they had to replace the breaker because, as the electrician said, once these big breakers have kicked a few times, it weakens them and they may not function properly. dont know if that helps ya out any, but just an experience i thought i would share :)

Thanks

I really think that is breaker has gone bad. I think it will need to be replaced(not by me).

once a breaker has been tripped a few times it really should be replaced as it will take less and less amp's to trip it
