i have a 72 gallon tank with 2 powerheads, one one each top corner, my friend gave me a rio 3100, i know its used for a return pump, but i was wondering if i can use it as a powerhead and where can i place it? thanks

Id do some research on Rio pumps, especialy the larger ones. Theyre known to fail on a more than regular basis causing all kinds of destruction to a tank. I recommend caution.

I have had 2 rio 2100's fail and kill several fish. One shocked the S#!+ out of me when i put my hand in to fish out my dead 3 year old niger. I thought it was a fluke then less than 6 months later the other leaked rust into the tank and killed EVERYTHING! I was searching for the killer and I went to pull it out and the cord came completely out but the rio sat in my sump spewing rust out the hole the cord just came out of! I finally saw the light and threw away my other 2 rios.

I love my korolia's but I have only had them for two months... At one year I loved my rios so i bought two more for another tank and sump... I then lost everything within 6 months...
