I think I am going to try one. I just haven't decided which one yet. I know there is also Zeovit, but I want to try something different.

Haven't used those but they sound similar to the Coral&Liverock Stimulator that we sold. Or vodka.

Vodka sounds way more fun!

I've used the coral and livestock simulator Richard sold and it worked wonders!!!! Don't know where I will get it now, but I know aquatek sells the polyp lab stuff and it;s kinda pricey!!

I was also looking at the polyp lab stuff. EDIT *Bruce* says it works well, but if you stop using it, all of your SPS are likely to brown out. If youre interested in the zeovit method, check out the forums at www.zeovit.com (http://www.zeovit.com) for endless pics and reading

I'm not using it for color just to control some alage that popped up but if it colors the color thats a bonus. I don't think it would brown out if you slowly tappered off which I plan to do anyways but time will tell I guess

Brian-Your tank does look awesome. I think I will try the polylab. My only hesitation is it is kind of expensive to start.

Sweet! I have some nuisance algae popping up. I think I am going to start the system this week.

Thats interesting that the polyp lab set-up has to the potential to kill bryopsis...such a nuisance.

On another note, I'm using the ELOS filtra M material, along with the aminos, in my 12g nano (70 w hqi). The directions on the Filtra M say to use a third of the recommended dose on your initial dose, also cut lighting 50% for the first 8-10 days. I raised my lights about two inches higher and cut my cycle down from 9 to 7 hours. This turned out to not be enough. Most of my sps turned extremely light, so I cut my hours down to 5 a day and raised the lights another two inches.

I have been running the Filtra M for about 14 days now and my sps have started to darken up again and are getting a nice "sheen" to them. The water is extremely clear, and other that the sps lightening, everything else seems to be ok. Just for reference I am not dosing any added bacteria, and I use B-ionic two part.

As far as the Aminos go, I noticed an increase in polyp extension within the first week, also colors getting deeper on some of my sps. I've been dosing three drops a day for around two months now.

Just wanted to give my input and experience so far with the ELOS product line.

So do you need to use the entire system of polyp lab or is there a particular one to use that controls the algae??? I have small patches of bryopsis popping up on my power heads thatI'd like to control.

I'm using the whole system I don't know if you only use part of it if it will work or not

I have been using the RF Genesis and Amono's, but realized I was using it wrong, and am planning on using all 4 components on the next try. John speaks very highly of it.

Brian,
Were you using the prescribed dosage to get rid of the algae? We are having the same issue (I think its Bryopsis) in our corner tank, but the RF Genesis and Aminos hasn't seemed to help. But then again, this is the same tank I always have the nitrate problem with. We are pretty sure now the nitrate issue is because of the rock, and are now blowing detritus out of holes when we can find them, but only time will tell on the nitrate issue. In fact, the nitrates were the reason I started with the RF supplements, hoping to get rid of the nitrates.

I'm using the exact dosages that are on the back of the product. I'm also doing the dosing exactly like it says, like putting the first two in the tank in the morning and the last two at night with the skimmer off.

I saw results within 2 weeks. I have what looks like two different types of byropsis and one of the types it kills fast than the other. The other slowly turns yellow and then I can pick it out and it usually wont grow back
