I was helping Willie (Witoski) with his tank diary thread and noticed that when we tried to type in "J a panese Swallow Angel" it wouldn't let that first word be shown... Kind of random I know, but thought it was kinda wierd and wondered why???

just part of the word filter of the site - it views the first three letters as a racial slur so it blocks them out.

A racial slur? Maybe back during World War 2 or something, but this is 2007. This world has become too politically correct (I'd say something else but that would get removed too!) for it's own good.

I mentioned that on day one of the new software. I think it should seriously be fixed. The term may be a racial slur but banning the whole country is an even larger slur. It is prohibiting members from making decent replies and threads with factual information, basically the filter is infringing upon our day to day routine and should be shot.

this actually calls MORE attention to a slur that isn't even intentional! that thought wouldn't have even crossed my mind untill i started trying to figure out what all the***'s were. this program promotes racism if anything. silly PC folks!
