Okay, I am looking for some more life to my tank. I have the following and would like a suggestion as to what would be a good addition or two to my tank:

72 Gal Bowfront R/R
4" live sand
65lbs Live rock
Misc softies (Hammer, Candycane, Kenya Tree)
Max. Clam
Shrooms and zoos
Various Snails and hermits
Cleaner Shrimp

Clown w/ anemone
2 chromie damsels
2 dalmation Mollies

I have 2 T5 whites and 2 T5 Actinics
2 powerheads
29gal sump w/ Eheim return pump
18gallon refugium w/4" live sand, 15-20lbs live rock, cheato(sp)
Skimmer in sump

I had a yellow tang, but lost him before I learned how to feed the yellow tang (diet issues)

Water levels are all great and I just want to add some color to the tank without breaking the bank or killing/disturbing what is in there. I was thinking a Hippo, but not sure what else to put in there..

Thanks in advance for your help.

so do you want color? a flame hawkfish would look neat. that would add some nice red to your tank. i would say a flame angel but theyre iffy when it comes to reefs.

you could also add a blue linkia starfish. thatll put some blue in there.

a royal gramma would also be a neat addition, but they tend to hide alot.

Hippo tangs are cool, but get way too big for a 72, so I would rethink that one, but a nice alternative might be a powder blue tang. They don't get anywhere near as big, so you'd be able to raise and keep him in there. Everyone knows how "fun" it is to catch an unwanted fish out of a reef aquarium which you'd have to do with the Hippo after about a year or so.
Another great fish that should fit in well would be a goby. Watchman Gobies are inexpensive fish with a lot of personality and the yellow ones are pretty good looking fish. It might hide for a few days after introduced, but will find a small cave or something to make his den and you'll learn where to look for him.
Good Luck!

A foxface rabbitfish does great in my reef. I haven't seen any of that stringy green hair stuff since and when I thin out the cheato from the fuge, he/she gobbles it down.

For the WOW factor you can't go wrong with most Flasher and Fairy Wrasses. Most Fox Faces are awesome, too. You also can't go wrong with a mated pair of Clown Fish. -SoLiD

I love my Flamehawk...adds a nice red to my tank & he is entertaining too. I've had mine for 3 yrs now & he is very nosey. Where ever I'm working in the tank, he is right there - has to know what I'm doing. Pretty cool fish. Great addition! Like MissT said, a Watchman Goby is good too...they normally will find their place & settle...good luck & let us know what you decide.

I second the Flamehawk. Acts just like a dog following you around all over the place.

I would echo David's statement. A flasher wrasse would be really nice! If you got some dough, look for some picasso clownfish!!! http://www.orafarm.com/images/new_species.jpg

I love how foxfaces change color like a mood ring. (Hippy statement)

MissT said a goooood one. Powder blues are beauts, but PRONE to ich, and I would not put one in unless you have a quarantine tank and a UV sterilizer plumbed into your display.

Just remember to feed your tangs some greens! I buy roasted seaweed from H-E-B. The package says EDOMAE on it, and it's tons cheaper than the 40 dollar packages at the LFS.

Check out www.liveaquaria.com (http://www.liveaquaria.com) and look in the SPECIALS!! section. I think they have a flame hawkfish there as well.

a black cap gramma would give some nice bright purple, but some of the coolest looking fish IMO are wrasses. sixline wrasse, leopard wrasse, radiant wrasse, flasher wrasses are all nice, but like erik said, they can be a little pricey. another favorite fish of mine is a candy hogfish.

A Leopard Wrasse http://liveaquaria.com/product/prod_Display.cfm?pCatId=339 would be cool.

Im a fan of pink tail triggers and they are reef safe. Just like dwarf angels you have to keep an eye on them to make sure they dont get a appetite for your corals.
