MACNA was great!! we learned a lot of the what to do's and what not to do's as we get ready to place our bid for the 09' Conference. we got to hear some very informative talks on subjects like Lighting, coral coloration, status of the reefs, RTN, ETC. they have some new technologies hitting the market soon and some improved tecknologies. They have a DI system that can replace your RO unit and produces no waste water and can be recharged, Ace has the INfo to elaborate a bit on that if needed..There is a new MJ mod that is completely injection molded, has a patented prop stop and comes with factory built propeller assymbly that makes it truely plug n play.. the best part is it is no more cost than the older ones that you have to build yourself... anyway just a couple of the highlights,,,oh and we brought back some nice goodies for our tanks:bigsmile:

Sounds great. That kinda sounds like the Kold Steril brand I asked about a year ago.

yes, as mike said, lots of information to process and relay to you. i took a few pictures and will be doing a write up asap. we also had some success recruiting some new (or getting back previous) sponsors and new speakers (some really good ones :D ) details to follow soon on that as well.

Here we go...
MACNA, wow. I dont think I'll miss one from now on! So much fun, information, new products there. I think the aspect of it that I like most is meeting people.
Speakers:
You've heard of Anthony Calfo, Sanjay Joshi, Eric Borneman, Mike Paletta, etc... ; at MACNA, not only do you get to see great informative presentations by these incredibly knowledgeable people, you get the chance to ask them questions and talk with them as you would any other hobbiest (except they always have great answers!). Good stuff.
Exhibitors:
Seen the new Polario pump? The new Korallen Kucht skimmer? The new Euro-Reef line of tanks that have yet to hit the market? A 200 gallon Zero-Edge aquarium valued at $20,000? Literally hundreds, probably thousands of products on display including those that dont hit the market for months. Best part of it, you can ask the owners/reps of the products as many questions as youd like and get face to face communication.
So you like corals and fish??? They have those too! Thousands of them, rare, unusual, Acros, Clams, fish, you name it! All for sale at great prices or raffle.
Banquet and Reception:
Great presentations during these!
Hang out with 1,000 of your fellow hobbiests and have fun.
All in all, I had an absolute blast, gained some valuable knowledge, and came home with a few cool things.
