Are the remaining two still alive? Are the spots oval white/light grey spots? If your tank is at 80 degrees it is probably too warm. What species are they? I keep my seahorse tanks at 76 degrees during the summer. Jorge and Erik at Dracomarine raise some beautiful, healthy seahorses. Dan at Seahorse Source is also doing some great work with seahorses. They are not cheap but well worth the money. Take it from someone who has been there. I would rather buy 1 seahorse from one of the above sources, then spend the same amount of money to buy 5 from another source. Money well spent. Cheryl

P.S. Last I heard ORA was purchasing their H. erectus from Dracomarine.

Sorry to hear about your loss. If your old male is H. erectus I will give you one of my juveniles once they are large enough to determine their sex. They are starting to court each other, so it should not be too much longer before I will be able to tell the males from the females. Ah! The joys of teenagers. Dracomarine offers free shipping on orders of $250 or more. If you don't want to spend that much on seahorses, I was going to place a order this fall and we could combine orders.

From what I hear Jorge is shutting down his business so you might want to contact him soon while he still has some stock left. Too hard to compete with the cheap asian horses coming in now I've heard. Sounds pretty much the way the rest of the MO industry is headed where cheaper is all that matters.

Thanks. I have emailed him and called and no response. I knew something was up. I will try again this morning. Cheap is not what I need when trying to raise healthy horses.

I just ordered 3 extra large males from Jorge this morning. He only has H. erectus for sale. I will pair them up with some of my large females I raised this year (expand the gene pool). I never had great success raising seahorses until I paired up the ones I purchased from him, with ones I raised. Now I have young seahorses everywhere. My oldest ones from this year are now large enough to sex and over three inches long. I will miss his seahorses.

That's great! I was planning on doing a northern erectus tank someday, they are beautiful. So let me know when you get some babies grown out.

Yeah it's sad he couldn't make it. Well at least you can say your seahorses were MADE IN AMERICA.

He said he is closing for a undetermined length of time, but hopes to re-open the business someday. He has some mustard yellow males he has been holding onto and is sending me three. It has to be hard for him to do this. He loves working with seahorses and the people that are interested in them.

I was wondering what happened. I really want an erectus female (or 2) with cirri. Draco was the only place I knew of that had them. Shucks!!

Lelia, do you have any available? PM me.
