Hi I'm new around here & new to wet/drys. I just set up a 120 FOWLR with a eshopps wet/dry. My qestion is what do you wet/dry guys use/do to help remove tiny floating particals in the water? My water is clear but it seems like I always have a lot of particals floating around. I'm running a 700 gph pump along with a cpr bacpak skimmer and a 15 watt trubo twist. What else is there that I could do? Like I said the water is clear minus the floating particals?

I use 100 micron filter socks in which my drains flow into. They work great. Just buy several and throw them inside out in the washer (w/o soap) and they are good as new. No more particles or air bubbles.

ok I'm still new to wet/dry's where exactly are you talking about? I have a eshoppe with a over flow box. It has 2 tubes in it with black foam/sponge around them leading into two white 1 1/4" tubes. So put it on the tubes in the overflow box?

He is talking about where the water enters the sump from the overflow box you put one of these on the end of it:

Then you clean them every week to 2 weeks.

That seems like a pan in the butt to do. Well I'd say 80% the particals was air bubbles from my skimmer so I was thinking maybe I could just wrap the sock around the out let tube on my skimmer. I also just realized I need a bigger skimmer. I didn't know the cpr s only good up to6 0 gallons and I'm running it on a 120 gallon tank. So I'm guessing that will help out to.

I don't know exactly what your setup looks like if you take a picture it would help.
using the picture below as an example it is the tube running down from the overflow on the left you would put the sock on the end of the tube.
