I have a great extra one you can have. I thought it was a good idea when I bought a 200 disk dvd changer for the new media room. I know, kinda stupid, but I was hoping to find some dope to sit there and load the thing and learn how to use it... My 3 kids won't do it, my wife won't, I guess that leaves me.

do what i did. sell your dvd player, get a decent video card, output VIA DVI to your LCD, enjoy!
nothing beats using your pc as a DVR and recording whatever you want, whenever you want

Mike, at best buy they have a dvd player made by phillips that's only like 40 dollars. It's a DIVX DVD player so it will play .avi files as well. That means, if you have backup copies that you downloaded, you could essentially burn 4 2 hour movie per DVD. Or you could burn most movies onto a burnable cd instead of a dvd.

if you do buy a dvd play make sure its divx compatible... I download seasons and its great to be able to burn to dvdr with out having to do any re-encodes...

Correct, direct burn to cd rather than spending hours encoding!
Mike, congrats btw! I'll bet it's hard to come by 40! I have not yet had the hell of buying a house, but that is coming sooner than later :)

I had sent you an email reply as your PM's are off. We went ahead last night and picked up a cheapy to get us by until we are settled into our new place. I appreciate the offer, she wanted to get one instead of waiting.

Sorry cafe, I am relatively new to this message board thing and still learning how to use everything... Didn't get the email until this morning when I started back to work. :-(

I have one you can borrow. It is sitting in the garage. Heck if you had a cool frag it's yours.

Hey folks appreciate the offers. She got crafty and borrowed one from her sister. It's been taken care of.
