A was thinking about setting up my 36 gallon corner tank soon, which will be my first marine tank. I was wondering what everyone would think a good, beginner friendly stocking list would be. I will most likely keep just a few corals, such as a few red mushroom. Thanks in advance and feel free to tell me what your suggestions are.
First Idea:
2X Young Occelaris Clowns
1X Sixline Wrasse
2X Cleaner Shrimp
Many small hermits and snails
Second Idea:
2X Young Occelaris Clowns
1X Firefish
1X Yashia Goby
1X Pistol Shrimp
Many small hermits and snails
Third Idea:
2X Young Occelaris Clowns
1X Neon Goby
1X Purple Firefish
2X Peppermint shrimp
2X Cleaner Shrimp
Many small hermits and snails
Thanks in advance for any help. It would be great if you could post a stocking idea of your own, thanks!

I've always wanted to do a corner tank w/ nothing but clowns and anemones. (I had a 75 gallon, but felt like it was too big for that.) A 36 gal. would probably be perfect.
I'm guessing that you'd want to keep the same type of clowns, though. Maybe some Clarki's or Percs. (It's kind of hard to get tank raised ocellaris clowns to go to an anemone. At least that has been my experience.) You could do different color variations of bubble tips, and probably get away with a long tentacle or carpet anemone.
Over 20 years ago, I knew a guy who had something like this. He had a bunch of clowns in there and even mixed the types. It was so cool. He also had some feather dusters in there.
Just a thought.

Thanks, that sounds like a great idea, besides the fact that I don't have adequate lighting for an anemone on this tank. The lighting is only some weak fluorescence and I'm not sure when I will be buying better lighting, and I understand that anemones require intense lighting.
It would be great if someone else could add some input, tell me what fish you think would work, I'm just a beginner. All suggestions appreciated!
Fourth Idea:
2X Occelaris Clown
1X Royal Gramma
1X Purple Firefish
Thanks

Why not spend the money on less fish and buy some T-5 lights. That way you can keep the anemone with the clownfish! T-5 aren't too expensive and give off great lighting for anemones

Thanks for all the answers. Keep them coming.
T-5 lights are really strong enough for an anemone? Are they just strong enough for a certain kind? Is there a way to supplement them with foods and other items to keep them healthy with less light?
I like the stocking idea posted, thanks.
Clip on light is a great option as well.
Thanks.
This will be my first marine tank. This is what I already own:
36 gallon corner and stand (Purchased at Alamo Aquatics)
Fluorescent 15 Watt lights.
Emperor 280 Filter
100 Watt Heater
Various pumps and things
Other aquarium equipment
So I will still need lots of money for things like sand, rock, a skimmer, ect.
Therefore I don't have a ton of money for lights.
Thanks again for the comments and keep them coming!
