Thanks for the suggestions to my problem. I have read about a coil system denitrifying cannister that I can make to produce anaerobic bacteria to convert the NO3 to N2 and H2O. Has anyone out there tried this? The machanics seem to be sound, but some things just aren't as efficient as they seem to be. You are supposed to run a 3/16 inch hose (15-25feet of it) from your tank into a cannister of some sort and all of the O2 is supposed to be depleted if you have enough hose of the right size with the right water flow through it. The N2 should, theoretically bubble off, and the new H2O is returned to the tank. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

A friend of mine bought a tank with one already built in. Keep in mind that it takes about 6 months to complete the first cycle. His tank was very efficient but I don't think he checked it enough to have results that you could compare to the tank without the coil.
