I started my 55g about 3 weeks ago. I didnt think i had the lighting for clams but apparently theres one in my LR.... I just saw it a couple days ago. Heres the pic, if you know what it is let me know please. It has a Purple/Blue tongue. I only have Hermits, snails, and Pep Shrimp so far. I will post some pics of everything soon.

Maybe someone will post up about it, but in the mean time.. how big is it? You can't really tell how big the rock is and then gage the size of the clam. I have lots of little clams that come in on live rock and are filter feeders. ?? Could be one of those little guys.

Hes about 1/2" or so. Its neat to see new things in the tank during the cycle. I think its almost time to put fish!

Is it maybe a jewel or dimebox clam?

I have no idea, but i thought you had to have really good lighting either way to keep clams....

It's my understanding that the jewel box (AKA dime) clams do not have the requirements of T crocea. They remain small and tend to grow in clusters. Google some pics to check yours against.
