Some people drip acclimate and some people just float the fish and toss it in the tank. i float it for 15 min and put it in the tank because after being shipped the fish has been sitting in its own urine filled water bag.

What I do is get home open the bag take a small amount of water out of the tank via cup and pour it in the bag. I let them sit for about 5min or so then scoop them out of the bag via net then into the tank they go. Its not exactly drip acclimating but its better than just putting them directly in the tank; OH and most important "NEVER POUR THE WATER FROM THE STORE OR WHEREVER YOU GET THEM IN THE YOUR TANK" You never know what you can be introducing ;)

I always try and have them put the fish in a bigger bag than the typical sized fish bag with alot of water. When I get home, I put the fish and the water into a 5g bucket. Then I take some airline tubing and start a siphon from the display. Tie a loose knot in the airline so it drips. Let it get to another gallon or so and introduce the fish, without the water from the bucket. It's easy, doesn't cost a penny, and will help successfully introduce the fish to the tank. This method is great for fish that are succeptible to ich outbreaks, as it is more gradual, and less stressful overall.

i use an old airline gangvalve i had lieing around, it allows for the speed of the drip to be controlled more easily.

I usually float the bag for 10 min to equalize temp. Then, I open the bag and add some tank water--wait 10 min. Next, I take out some of the water in the bag and add more tank water--wait 10 min. Place them in the tank--usually with my hand.

Kinda like Loans and fishes. I float the bag in my sump to stabilize the temp. Then I begin adding very small amounts of water every few minutes for about 30 mins. Then I take the bag to the sink and begin puring out most of the water in the bag. Place back into the sump and continue replacing water from the tank. About 30 mins later I do it all again. Pour more water out and begin replacing it. I do this until I feel all the water from the shop has been replaced by water from my tank. When I feel confident that all is well, generally an hour and half after I began I will then remove the fish from the bag and add it to the tank. I never pour that water back into the tank.

I use erikharrison's method, using so air tubing with a guest valve, which makes for easier adjustments of drip rates, i then drip for 30 min into a bucket in which i have placed the fish with its shipping water. works great and less mess, after acclamation i then net out the fish into the display and dump the bucket water into the toilet.

The saltwater will kill the grass. Our grass is not acclimated to it.
