;) My daughter saw a snowflake eel at the lfs and i would like to get one. I have a 55gal tank with a t-5 lighting system. I keep my tank around 80. I have a yellow tang, clown fish, flame angel, and some chromies.
I have heard that my tank is too small, and that the tank needs a solid top. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.
Also i have a cleaning crew with 1-2 peperment shrimp.

eels grow remarkably fast what may be small in your tank now may be too large in the near future...i have a snowflake that started around 8" around February and now its close to a foot and fat. i have him in a fowlr tank with other larger fish which he seems not to bother but when i feed him he'll eat a piece of fish larger than a damsel. do some research before acquiring this piece.

I have a snowflake in my 125... I wish I never bought I think is really really cool.... but when I see a nice small cool fish at a fish store I can't buy him/her because my eel may eat it .......
he is a opertunist just like any eel he wont mess or eat big fish but small or sick and they are gone....
also snacks on helpless snails or hermits if not feed well...
