San Antonio to Austin roadtrip/lfs extravaganza

i just got off the phone with john at kingfish who just happens to have the skimmer i NEED (mce300) and was wondering if anyone else would be interested in making a trip to austin to check out some of our yankee sponsors up north in the city of weird? :P

i would really like to make it a semi-regular event to show our support for the people who support us. maybe meet up at the forum area carpool up and back

I'd be interested in making trips up to Austin. Its harder for me having a vehicle which is a DOG on the highways. Probably by months end I'll have some more spending cash (I hope). So let me know if you plan on going again in a few weeks.

thats exactly why i was hoping a few people would want to go, we could split gas and BS and go visit some cool sponsors and such

i come to austin fairly frequently at work. i was really hoping to get some people in SA interested in supporting the austin stores (also not trying to take anything from our fine LFSs in SA either) more than serving my self interests in picking up a new skimmer.

It's always fun to make the rounds checking out LFS. Even if you don't buy anything it's good to see different livestock, tank setups, and products from what you are used to seeing locally. I do a lot of work in Austin and used to be able to sneak off and visit one or two of the stores before driving back to SA, but haven't had time to do that in a long time. I'd love to go up there some weekend and check out the old and new stores.

I'll keep an eye on this thread, and if you meet up at Kingfish I'll try to be there to meet you all, too. BTW, great choice on the MCE300 - I've been running it on my 30g tank for about 8 months and it rocks!
