biocube 14 gal tank have a bad design where fish can get caught on the inside of the 3rd chamber (where pump sits inside) there is a plastic piece that fish if small enough can get stuck and die I would recomend adding silicone to keep the plastic from sticking out. I had my male black clown die on me. I figured i let other biocubers in. My black clown somehow jumped into the chamber and hid behind the plastic side piece I only noticed him because where the water level indicator was I noticed a part of his tail wedged in there I cant even get him out would it be ok if i left him in there to decompose or would my nitrates shoot up and kill everything in my tank? I dont think i could get him out unless i tore my cube apart. Any advice? He was my breeder male too! Ahh well ..stuff happens

sorry to hear about this....

on a tank that small, it will definitely affect your water quality if you dont get it out of there ASAP

Sorry to that happened to you. I also lost a clown and a firefish who bailed over the back my biocube-29. I wound up cutting the blue sponge prefilter material down to size and stuffing it in the top of all chambers to keep fish from getting in there. Wish you luck.

hold his tail with tweezers and try to get him out with a fish hook. The barb should go in fairly easy, and you can pull him out. Sucks to lose fish!!!! I hate it! Best of luck buddy!

I also lost a clown in my 14 gallon biocube. It jumped over the back wall several times before it got sucked to the pump.

Sorry about the loss. You here about it a lot on nano-reef.com I have yet to add any fish to my BC 29 but there is a mod that you can make to prevent this from happening again. Good job on getting him out.
