yep, not to discourage but they do require large aquariums 300g+ is best and prefer to be in groups. Does not do go solo. With that said Alamo Aquatics had some months back, you may want to check with them.

Not sure of what to tell you, we tried to discourage you from buying it,lol just giving you are hard time. But on a seroius note What are the specs on the aquarium size; water parems etc.... Also it normal for a fish not to eat for a few days after purchase especially more hard to keep specimens such as look downs. Give it a couple of more days and if it still hasnt eaten then you can be concerned.

They are a cool looking fish. But there a fish better looking in the sea ,not a tank.

From what I understand they tend not to eat in captivity. They tend to be like Moorish Idols, better left in the oceans.

I have had a small juvi lookdown (1.5 inches) in my 24G nano for 2 months. He eats live amphipods, frozen mysis, and frozen cyclops. It took him 2 days before he was comfortable enough to eat. Now he never hesitates to eat what ever moves. See if you can find some LIVE feeder grass shimp for yours as I started out feeding mine live food first then moved him to frozen. My Lookdown is also the only fish in the tank.

Check out the picture of him eating frozen mysis. The pictures are from today.
