I picked up a Tsunami from Blue Line. It works..... that's about it. Most of the "wave makers" just switch back and forth every few minutes. I was really bummed to find out it wasn't every few seconds. The Koralia units may suffer damage on one.
I think there is a company called www.top-off.com in Houston that makes cheap but good units for $30 or less.

I read the Koralia work on the seio controller and that hydor is making their own soon. I use an osmolator for top off and it works great.

thanks, will look into both,
I was looking at wave makers and found one that I liked, but I was wanting to get a tunze w/controller.....unfortunately not enough moneys for either....so i'm wondering maybe i should just save up for a tunze w/ controller......and get rid of most of the other powerheads when the time comes.....hmmm..... sounds like a good plan?

If your patient enough to save up the funds, then I would say thats a great idea. What are your tank dimensions? I ran a Tunze Stream 6000 with a single controller on a 55g tank and it performed awesome. The pulse capabilites were great. Since the 6000 is adjustable, you can dial down the flow if needed.

Definitely save for the Tunze. I have several Tunze streams and like each and every one so much that I plan on buying 4 of the 7100 series for my next tank.

The Nano Streams are nice. Only one of them is programmable, but not sure if it has hit the market yet. The other Nano Streams that are for sale now, will not hook up to a Tunze controller....so you will have to use another type of wave maker.
Being such a wide tank, I believe a 6000 would work great. Place it in the back corner, aiming it towards the center pane of glass. Definitely get a single controller with the photo cell. But thats just what I would do....
Or you can get a few nanostreams and place them throughout the tank. I haven't used these personally so I do not know how well the flow is from them. I do know the Streams have a nice wide flow pattern with high gph.

I have several of the 6060's and like them. I ran them on my wave maker for about a month. I didn't really care for it since the streams would jerk on and sometimes come loose from the mag mounts, crashing to the sand bed or coral below. Rumor is that it will damage them and that Tunze can tell by the imprints left on the magnet of the impeller.
