Home depot and Lowes have them. I have had to purchase several for my Seio controller.

Radio Shack is the best place. I went there to find a replacement thermal fuse for my microwave when it went out recently. Only $2.99 for a pack of 4.

Aluminum foil? lol.... I really suggest good quality surge protectors for all critical devices. Can you get a pic of the old fuse? For some reason manufacturers design their products to use unique to parts so that you have to go to them to get replacement parts.

it looks just like the old style barrel fuses from cars only smaller. you know, the ones with glass in the middle and metal ends. i guess i will just have to order some from coralife.

I've had trouble finding them for my lighting too... And those were only 6 amp. Ace, I'd suggest ordering a bunch to have on hand. Then, you'll never need them again. I can't figure out why these manufacturers continue to use hard to find fuses.

Jim, for a FUSE?? That's stupid. A product like a chiller or lighting doesn't work for a week waiting for a FUSE???

Ace,

http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2102754

Other ways to get it
In store:
"Available at most stores, find it near you" is a link to enter your zip

It showed a few stores had it "in stock" in Austin when I entered my zip so if you can't find it there let me know and I'll call the Austin stores near me.

lol, I agree, it is stupid! But they still do it. Thats why do it yourself projects are so popular, we're always looking for a way to bypass the expensive alternatives.

Might call around tomorrow to some appliance repair parts places. There is Appliance Parts Depot off of Broadway. Or some air conditioning parts places.

ok, felipe saved the day! he got in touch with a customer of his who had the same problem as me a while back with the same chiller, and they loaned me a two fuses until i can get some. the kicker is, they talked to the guy at coralife, and he told them that the chiller should be run with a 20 amp fuse, not a 15 - the chillers were sold with the wrong fuses. the only store that carries them (according to the coralife guy) is one in Connecticut! ill be ordering some from them tomorrow.

So if you were not around and your chiller blew the fuse and your tank went up to 90 degrees would coralife replace your loses? Yeah, right.
