This will be a huge jump in size from my Biocube 29 so I figured I would share the ride. It will be a mixed reef set up when I get done. So far I have the tank that was purchased new, Ehiem1262 for return, 8 X54 watt t-5 retro kit, Octopus skimmer, 2 #4 Koralias, combo sump/fuge, and a custom Maple stand and canopy by Ace. The following pics are of the unfinished stand and the work by Ace to get it built.

I finally had a chance to get more work done on the tank. So far with the help of Jason(Aquarium Designs) I finished the majority of the plumbing. The stand is 100% done. I started working on my foam background. Next up is the frame work for the T-5 lights.

hey fire nice to see you are getting into a bigger tank, looks sweet and well planned, i wish i had started new on my current tank i would have done thing so much differently, but i got a heck of a deal on it so i cant complain... anyway cant wait so see the finished product, btw....have u ever notice your sailfin bleeny when hes on the war path...mine looks so cool and he changes colors with most of his face turning blue.

Mine does it just about every time the dogs are near the tank. He gets real pale in color except the face which is a purple/blue like you said, then he throws all his fins out and hits the glass. It is kind of funny, but it sure does get sand everywhere.
Thanks for the compliments. The foam background is getting redone now. My wife took one look at it and said there was no way that was going into our living room.

I don't think it was the color. I think it had to do with no artistic ability at all. She told me she was picturing "more rocky looking".

That stand looks really good, the color really pops. I've always liked lighter woods, everyone has dark woods like Oak or Walnut.

We already have a table and china cabinet I built out of the same wood so I was trying to match it up since they are all in the same area of the house. It is silver leaf maple. It shows a bunch of wood grain and imperfections with a clear finish.

With a couple of the nice new tank builds going on and some folks finding their interest again, it has helped me find mine. I had to look real hard to find it though.

My not so new anymore 90 refilled with water, foam project, and reaquascaped. Here's a couple pics of the progression.

Ok, sold the biocube so I moved everything over yesterday. Most of the corals are at the bottom or near bottom to acclimate to the new T-5's. Huge change from the BC29's power compacts. Some coral look completely different under the T5's. Added my clown and coral beauty, plus purchased 3 small chromis. Everything is still alive tonight. I will be moving alot of the coral around in a week or so after they acclimate.

Nice to see your tank up and running. It's been about a year right? Patience is such a virtue. I'm on year 2 now and still dry.

Mike- I lost track of time. Pretty sure it has been more than a year. I was holding out so I could beat you on the longest tank build, but you won. I luckily have not had to go through a slight fraction of the problems you have endured. It is worth my troubles though and the family is enjoying it. Any change in your build yet?

Not sure if you noticed the updates in the thread about a month back. The one that had pics of the tank in the house. The next day we found out that our foundation was in horrible shape. Our house is off by up to 4 1/2" in one corner. Recently we had a gas line snap at the meter from the shifting. $15K to repair. Needs 28 piers driven in. We have to move out, and everything we own, for a month. All of our flooring will need to be removed.

On the bright side? We had the for sight to have the foundation inspected BEFORE we put the water in the tank. LOL. Could you imagine if I had set it all up and then had to tear it all out?
