I have a Tunze 6060 about 1 year old that I bought new from the Tek. It has begun to make a chirping noise. It seems to be constant. I've unplugged it to let it rest, cleaned it, moved it everything I can think of and yet it starts back up again about 10 minutes later. Anyone else have any Tunze streams chirp? The impeller looks clean as can be.

Could the impeller shaft be bent a little?

I would go ahead and post this on the Tunze forum on ReefCentral. Roger may be able to help you with replacement parts. Since he's in the Austin area, they shouldn't take too long to get to you!

the impeller is stuck, take out the impeller, make sure there is nothing in the housing hole, make sure you take out the rubber seal and clean it out, thats it

there are pics. and more detail instructions at RC, under the tunze section

is a safety alarm telling you that the impeller has stoped

I've heard about the alarms on the 7000 series, the chirp comes from the controller. The 6060 is non controllable. Mine runs perfect while chirping.
