your tank is not long enough for a glass brace accross the top to be needed.

I would go w/ 3/8 ot 1/4 inch.

Silicone - use GE Silicone 1 (Do not use 2, it has mold resistant chemicals in it that will get in your water.)

also, while your tank is small, you may look into getting low iron glass, also known as starphire for the front and sides.

have you ever built a tank before?

What kinda tools do you have or are able to get a hold of? Check out the AGE tanks. They are made with a PVC bottom. The sides are routered to allow the glass panes to slide in. Makes them very strong and gives you a lot of options when placing overflows or closed loop ports. That incombination with Starphire glass would make a really nice tank :) If I was going to build a tank, I'd try building one with a PVC bottom.

Since your footprint is small enough, check out usplastics.com for the Sch 80 pvc sheets

As for the thickness 3/8" would work. Always overbuild....never underbuild ;)

Keep us up to date on whatever you end up with :)

not sure why your silicone turned yellow. :(

but, abetter choice than both of them, if you can be neat, is black silicone. it looks a lot nicer IMHO.

not saying to buy it from here, this is just the first place i got when i googled it.

Aero,

ask for low iron glass and I bet you can find someone who sells it.

I think someone here bought some in san antonio a while back, but i don't know from who or where.
