i picked up a goby last week to replace one that i had previously owned and the new one does nothing but kick up sand. with the high flow rate in my tank it is a constant sand storm.
is this normal? will it ever stop? the thing that kills me is my previous goby was so calm and peaceful compared to this one and i dread the thought of having to remove everything to catch this booger
thanks in advance

It will NEVER stop. I did the mistake of buying one.. I had to tear down my hole tank to get him out. My sand was clean, but there was sand EVERYWHERE. They are VERY fast..and smart too. So good luck! :D

Try the coke bottle trap. Get some fish line..cut an entrance hole on the coke bottle. Put a small cube of brine shrimp inside.. Tie the fish line to the neck of the bottle..and as soon as he swims in...PULL! the bottle up..trapping him in. Then giving him away to someone who doesnt know..hehehe :skeezy :ph34r

i reached my boiling point yesterday. he keeps the stand stirred up so much yesterday my skimmer went crazy and overflowed, bad.
i did get lucky this morning though. he was in the corner grazing on some sand and i eased a small net down right beside him then bam, right into it. bagged him up and took him to felipe. it took a LOT of strenght not to send him down the drain back to the ocean.
never again

I have a sandsifting goby that won't sift...he sets out and waits for me to feed him brine shrimp. :wacko
