I have a thirty gallon tank sitting under my tank. I also have a wet/dry. I am wanting to make a large fuge only out of the thirty. I have a large bucket of sand from two of my old tanks. The sand is either dead or dying. What do I need to do to clean it? It's about 80 lbs. Oh yeah, I live in an apartment, haha. Whatever is going to be easiest to do here is what I am looking for. Oh yeah, For mechanical filtration I have a Rena Filstar XP2. So I won't need the wet dry for anything... Also, what is the least I can spend and have good lighting on the fuge? Should I put my return in the middle of the tank, height wise? What I mean is, if it is higher in the water will it help with dwell time of more water than if it is at the bottom? I am going to cover the return in LR.

HD as a PC bulb that would fit on cheap shop light for 20 bucks.. To clean your sand get your tooth brush and scrub it down.. J/K If you need send your sand with your chicka and Ill wash it down for you and send it back home. sparkling
