Hello everyone! I'm looking for an ID on the coral in the middle. I have suspicions as to what the coral is... but just wanted to get other insight from other SPSer's. :)

I bought this frag about half a year ago with only 2 branches - the dude I bought it from said it was a Stylophora. As it grew in, it started to look less and less like one - and now I'm thinking its a Pocillopora (maybe P. damicornis)?

What do ya'll think?

i'm leaning to pocillopora

I agree...

It does also look similar to some of the non-pointy birdsnest but I'm still leaning towards a poci.

Nice addition though.

I also posted this thread on ARC and got a response there.
1 vote from Joseph thinking it's a Birdsnest.

hard to tell from that pic.. if it has a really fuzzy appearance then most likely a Poci,, if you can clearly see individual polyps, then could be a birdsnest.. I would put Money on the Pocillipora

In that pic, you can see indiviual polyps like a birdsnest but they also have the hazy look of a poci at the end of the branches.

Dunno if this would help, but here's a side view of it:

Sorry everyone, I haven't been online most of this weekend!

Ace, my frag looks awfully like the S. caliendrum pic. The branches on the frag aren't as bunched up as the P. damicornis. It looks like my hypothesis was wrong from the get-go. Thanks everyone! :)
