I have quite a few LARGE hermits that I got at the beach. My theory is, that if it's not "reef safe" just make sure it's fed well and it shouldn't pick at anything. My crabs go as nuts as the fish do when I feed :)

I disagree. Non-reefsafe hermits and other inverts (pests as i call them) constantly eat. They don't have a "lunch time". Your crabs must go nuts because they eat all they can, not because they are hungry and its dinner time.
I honestly don't like the look of the crab, he doesn't look reef safe to me. Ive only kept Clibanarius tricolor, Calcinus laevimanus and Calcinus elegans in the past. They aren't only reef safe, but VERY good looking hermits.
