It may be the type of xenia that you're trying to keep. I've heard that some are reaallllly hard to keep alive. Sorry I don't know more.
Good luck~

Hmmm.. Is there a possible way you could post your water parameters?? Im 100% sure the answer is there. Thanks.

pH is most likely your culprit

I had a hard time with it when I was running power compact lights. Then, I swithced to MH. Now I can't stop it from growing!

I've heard that if your tank is too clean they won't survive as they filter feed all day.

You need more pollution, add some phosphates, nitrates, just joking. Since you have so many more other corals they are using up the nutrients the Xenia need. On the lighting side, I have grown Xenia in light levels as low as 2 watts per gallon. I always tell people add a little stalk of Xenia if it is going to grow it will.

Just feel great that you cannot grow that weed. You'll thank your tank later.

now now... a lot of people like xenia, and it CAN be used to export nutrients just like macro.

personally, I love the red sea pom pom xenias, they look awesome.

Make sure your PH is 8.2 or above. Depending on type of anemone and size of tank it might be hammering it with chemical warfare. If it's one of the 'blue' xenia like sansibia sp. then they are very hard to get established. I've bought some and had it dissolve in the 45 mins it takes to get home.

We can't grow Xenia either. I would like to think the tank is too clean. LOL I iodine is crucial for xenia growth as well.

Don't feel bad, I can't grow Xenia, Green star polyps or Anthelia. All of them needing a more "polluted" tank.

BINGO! Your water is to clean, as has already beed said Xenia like iodine and a dirty tank. Just quit doin water changes and you to can grow and keep these dudes. They are a really natural filter IMO

I know a couple of people that have Xenia fuges. They work great for dirty tanks or iw ill say "high bio-load" tanks to be politically correct. LOL!
