I'm having trouble w/ odyssea light system I have. There is one plug for all three switches of lights(15k day, actinic, and moon light led's). The moon lights turn on.... but the other two lights don't work. The fans do turn on w/ switch for actinic but no lights??? Any ideas what's wrong??? I know odyssea is not a good brand system as for I'm surly getting what I paid for. Can anyone give advise or maybe help fix for a decent price?? Thanks jake

Might be the ballast, or bulbs? could even be the wiring?
Youre right, you get what you pay for, Ive learned the hard way myself.
As far as an alternative, tell me about your system.
Size? Corals? etc...

isnt Odyssea the same as Jebo?? VERY bad quality stuff from personal experience..

My best advice is don't invest any money in that light setup anymore.. I'd save some cash and buy something a bit better.

If it is power compacts or T5's your ballast is most likely shot. They last about 6 months from them. I've replaced them with Fulham Workhorse ballasts from Coral reef Bazaar and have not had any troubles.

The light system does not have a ballest...just one plug for all three lights and fan. I had bought new bulbs thinking the bulbs went out but none work at all. So I know it's not the bulbs, i'm really sure how I can check the wiring since the moon leds still work and the fan w/ the actinic bulb switch. I'm just thinking about saving up and getting a mh system. As for what's in the tank, it's 125g fowlr tank. Thanks for everyone's advice.

I would have to say that with what just happened to me Odyssea is not that bad. I was working on my filter and the return hose came lose inside the tank, not knowing this I turned the filter back on and WA-LA instant SW fountan. It soaked my light. The light started flickering and went out before I could hit the off switch. I thought for sure that I had fried everything in it. I took it apart and went at it with a hair dryer, plugged every thing back up and to my surprise everything worked.

Um the ballast is built into the fixture. You have to unscrew everything and then tap it apart using a hammer. trust me I've worked on about 10 of them for friends, not to mention that I've helped the Austin distributor rebuild several returns.

If it doesn't have a ballast it won't turn on the lights, end of story.

Yeah, best bet is to invest in a new fixture

Sean I whole heartedly disagree this time. Being as I have torn apart many of the fixtures for repair I can honestly say that as a fixture they are decent. I mean you have clips, are made of non rusting aluminum with stainless steel screws, sockets, wires, LEDS, reflectors and fans already. Replace the junk Ballast with a Fulham Workhorse and you are back in business for $35. That sure is a lot better than $300 any day.

..I whole heartedlyt disagree too. Jebo fixtures are very low quality compared to other brand products. If it wasnt the ballast this time..it will be next. If it wasnt a switch..it will be next..

You can patch them up all you want and STILL there will be something else wrong with them. My suggestion is..dont invest any more money, those fixtures are an endless pit of money. Im not saying it just because. Im saying it because ive had Jebo stuff before..and it is very bad quality stuff. NOT POORLY BUILT. Just bad quality.
