Not a store, an aquaculture facility.

It's also not open to the public FYI

Thats mean!

A guy trying hard to save up for his own AP 851 and you gotta rub it in his face with these pictures!

:P :lol

Just more motivation to save up the rest of the money for it. Good work setting up that place. Great choices on the equipment too.

What's the third pic for, skimming the waste off a dead body? :lol

Yes, we found a dead homeless guy and put him in the sump. The deltec AP1006 skimmed him out in like an hour.

Well it's a ratio thing, a dead damsel in a 75g, a dead human in a 4,000g set up. So see it's not that weird when you put it in perspective.

I wish I had more info, I'm not the owner of this place and I don't know what his plans are. Surely, when he is ready he will enlighten us all. I do know that the uncured liverock was just added yesterday, so it'll be a while.

But I guess its in the general MAAST area. Its good to see a aquaculture facility that large to be running primo equipment. Thats a good sign of whats to come in the livestock. Hopefully they will sell to the public via online OR be avaliable to LFS in the area. Shorter transit times may lead to cheaper prices!!!

The research I've done points to a town far away from a town that starts with the letter "L".

La Vernia, Leander, Lakeway, Lockhart,

Regardless of where its it, its a private facility that will not be open to the public ;) So field trips and personal visits are normally out of the question for these outfits. The best bet to go to one of these is to open a LFS, and then you can visit and order bunches of acros to sell at a fair and reasonable market price to us reefers :)

My take on it is it needs to be public friendly so people will ask the LFS's to carry their products....Like "TCN" (The Coral Nursery). You can see all their products but they will only sell to LFS's. I dont think hiding any business is good business sense.

Hiding the location, yes, thats good business sense....in the sense of being a supplier/distributor. You hide these locations for a security sense. I know **** sure if I was misguided and unlawfull I'd be there trying to take that primo equipment and livestock in the middle of the night ;). Now we all know I'm not that way, but having a big advertisement of where your located makes the risks higher that it would happen.

Making public of what you sell via a website or from LFS's; thats how you spread the word on what you do sell.

Yes, let's hide the location...Tunze (America) is right in the heart of the ghetto. 50 grand worth of Tunze equip. and no alarm system.....Actually, If nobody finds the place, we can keep selling and trading out of our houses...and they can keep doing whatever they are doing in private....behind closed doors....in the dark..........*LOL....I've seen ALL of the pictures!!...and I know exactly what's going on out there in L'flugerville!!!! :lol

Interesting comments. The location is kept private for two reasons; 1) The owner is also the only employee, who is going to be responsible for all of the ordering, fragging, book-keeping, and shipping. Lengthy converstions and tours will not allowing enough time to do his work right now. Who knows what the future will hold, he may be open one or two days a week in the future. Currently, there is not much to see, the pics tell the story and i know the owner is spending 8hrs a day or more plumbing tanks, cleaning rock and setting up his infastructure and ecommerce website.
2) he has a lot invested in this deal and can't afford sabotage, theft, or vandalism right now. I think that the majority of us know each other and have a general respect for each other and the hobby, but this is still an internet forum open for anyone to sign up and browse.

The owner is a hobbiest first and is a very cool, and reasonable guy. One of his biggest goals is to support the LFSs and clubs, and he has mentioned to me that he wants me to carry his products and also use our store (if it ever gets open :wacko ) as an outlet for customers who order online but want to avoid the expense of shipping.

Cool.... a business no one knows about ..... I wish walmart would do that. Keep my wife out of there and I would save alot of money.

i'm not sure why everyone wants to push for a public viewing.... he's not a retail outlet. he's not walmart and he's not a sams/costco-members-only-keep-everyone-else-out business... i'm sure 90-95% of manufacturing business don't have plant tours, so why would this be any different.

i think we should respect the owner in keeping his location "hidden". maybe one day he would be willing to do a tour/host a maast meeting or something to that effect. but stepping/buring/crushing this guy's toes won't get very far.

just my .01 cent, i won't even put in .02 cents

HOLY COW!!........two cents and you'd need a publisher....besides, these guys are just trying to advertise on maast by being sneaky....and it is working well!!!!!!! We're almost up to page 4!!!!!!! **((Laughs...tears....a bit o' gas.
Hey Troy, in Corpus, when you do a water change....can you just go to the beach and fill up...I can't wait for the Port A. trip....It's gonna be CRAZY SIKK!!

Garrett,

I apologize if in some way we offended you. We thought MAAST would be interested in a project of this size in our area and wanted to share the information publicly. Troy hit the nail on the head with his post and I hope you'll read back over it.

This is in no way some ploy to sneakily advertise, especially when the facility has already talked about being a MAAST sponsor.
