Dropped by Kingfish Aquariums after work today, and that is one AWESOME shop! Even though they're not 100% ready for retail yet, I made an appointment to pick up a tricolor acro. They were very accommodating with the times, and very friendly.
Got to talk with Brian (the owner) for a bit, look around the store, pick up my coral and some B-ionic. Very competitive prices, and the B-ionic was probably cheaper than ordering it online and then paying for s&h.
I look forward to when they fully open up for retail. That'll be a store I won't mind stopping into after each payday. :lol

Yun,
Sorry I didn't get a chance to meet you today but thank you for the kind words. We're still working away to be open and can't wait to have all of you for the opening.
Thanks again,
John

Cool, another Austin fish store... Where is it located, or is that a secret since they arent open yet? :)
For a little Austin fish store trivia, there used to be a Kingfish on south lamar next to kerby lane back in the 80's.
The whole side of the building was painted with a large blue whale on it if I remember correctly... and I think the painting is still there now.

John has been extremely helpful...it is a classy establishment and they run all Deltec equipment. That's where I got my calcium reactor....Nice place.

It's down Burnet, really close to the 183 intersection. It's in a business park, next to that huge boot store (I think?), across from the UHaul place. Can't remember offhand the address #s.

I totally agree!!! Stopped in today and even though they aren't officially open they let me in to get some B-ionic. Store is looking excellent and very clean and professional. They are really doing it right. Thanks again.

WOW! Thanks everybody, it is very encouraging to hear your comments. John and I are working hard to make our place a real haven for reef enthusiasts. It is going to be a little while longer before an official grand opening because we need a few more tanks that are being custom built out of house. In the meantime I will post coral pics when we get shipments and try to be as available as possible to anyone who wants to stop by and hang out. Thanks

Brian,
Maybe you could post times when you'll be available at the shop for us locals to come by and check it out.
I've heard nothing but good things about Kingfish.
Thanks

tomanero, thats a great idea. In fact I am here right now, (sat. 9th). I have some rock coming in later today that I will have to go to the airport to pick up. But other than that, I'm here plumbing etc. Anyone that wants to stop by is welcome to. Call 371-3366 if you need directions, check www.kingfishaquarium.com for directions on the home page.

Truck Load of Kudo's to Kingfish. Brian and John are two of the most knowledgable aquarists I have ever met. They give good advice and support. They just need to get the place open...I got a few $$ burning a hole in my pocket...! LMAO!
