yeah, look at my member gallery. I had a sea apple just like that one, but smaller. I woke up and my tank looked like it had a gallon of milk poured into it.

They're cool to watch while they feed, pushing one feeder tentacle out of its mouth while pulling another one in. They feel really wierd!!! It's slimey and looks how it feels, odd and gross!

Tell your wife that my girlfriend was ademate about having an apple. It's part of the reason we went to SW. She had the bug for that thing, so despite all warnings, I let my big head convince me into it. We got it, almost lost everything, and yeah, not worth it. Dfwolks, and SoLiD saw the tank in person the levels were so out of whack the only thing I could do was a massive WC.

Its not about money. Sea apples feed often, so you need a good supply of phyto in the tank. At the same time, you need good water quality. Unfortunately, ive never seen them last long (just like spanish dancers) and can be nothing but a time bomb. Ive heard MANY stories of cucumbers erradicating all life in a reef setup.

Yeah we spot fed ours daily, it was quite a pain. I would polyp out so far! It really loved my tank, then one night, it just decided to commit suicide. I think it was because it had no friends, and the other fish just avoided hanging out with it, it got depressed, and WHAM, suicide! Now, if I look at something and don't know what it is, I look, say "oooooo that's cool" and then keep going, because I know that if I like it, it will nuke my tank to spite me! :P

Oh boy, was that a sad day for my friend Erik. Take his advise if you value your fish, corals, & the money you've spent on your other tank inhabitants. -SoLiD
