It's a very large peacock. I saw it last weekend, what a cool and beautiful animal.

They come in so many cool colors and morphs. If i get one it will most likely go in a small-medium cube. Anyone know what glass thickness is neceassary to keep one?

Really depends more on what type of mantis it is, smasher or piercer. If the later then you'd probably want to go with acrylic, thick acrylic. Donnie can answer better when he comes on as he's the local mantis expert.

great video! i'm surprised that the scientists just figured out that there's a catch mechanism. i had a mantis for about a year and a half, and i always figured that must be how they did it. how else could a small creature provide that much force? it's similar to the way a grasshopper's leg works. also very interesting that they actually cause cavitation of the water at impact, that's some incredible speed!
