Those 12k's should whiten up in a few weeks. Little too blue for my liking. Are you running any actinics with them?

Actinics are going full blast (2) 6' in front & (2) 4' in back....Everybody else is telling me that they aren't blue enough....I like em just fine though.

12k's are my favorite bulb, not too blue, not too white, not yellow, just right for me :)
Your tank looks great!

Ace, the absolute best growth and coloration Ive had/seen was from the good old 10k with vho actinic supps, something about that combo just seems to make the colors pop out in my opinion.

Joseph Le has a 250 watt Reeflux 12K and a 250 watt XM 15K Side by side.....I would have thought they were matching bulbs....they look very similar....All you guys with single ended 250 watter's should check out this site:

After about two month , the blue started to burn a crisp blueish white. Beginning ,I agree on the too much blue light. I love it now!

I have had my 12k reeflux bulbs burning for about 6mos no and I love them., My growth and color are excellent and I don't think they are too blue except for the beginning.

I had 2 - 175w 12K's that were 14 months old when I last tested, one was at 95% and the other was at 100% brightness. Doesn't fit the typical MH burn out or depletion in brightness as other MH lamps. Although I just recently sold this tank I am keeping up with the current owner to see how long they will last before they need to be replaced. Going on 15 months.

Don't feel bad I took out my T5HO and VHO and I just have 2-250w/1-175w MH on my 200 gal and the same combination on my 158 gal. The 175w's(one on each tank) run on two of the old coral life solar systems that where famous in the late 90's with dimming ballast that take two hours to get to full brightness and 2 hours to dim down to full darkness. Curious to see how long they last. The funny thing is when you take a picture they look bluer than in real life?
