Do any of you know where to get one of those electronic R/O ppm testers. I already looked on BFS and did not see any. Maybe there are some in S.A.? TIA

second and third ones on this (http://www.buckeyefieldsupply.com/showproducts.asp?Sub=149&showspecials=149) page are the hand held TDS meters. dont know of a local place that carries them

I got the dual in-line tds meter at marine depot....I would advise everyone who has an RO unit to get one of these...I was noticing some increase in algae and couldn't put my finger on it....I got the meter and the water was at over 200 ppm! :o

Excellent! I don't know how I missed those on BFS's site. Thanks again Ace :D

Thanks Sharkboy, I think I'll get the inline set up as well. ;)

And keep in mind that there are just as many theories of where to hook it up as there are meters.

In my RO/DI unit I chose to test the output of my RO going into my DI and coming out of my DI. That way I know and recorded my initial RO output. I can track it and if it begins to creep up I know to change the sediment filters. If it rises quickly the membrane is probably shot. Then I test the DI output. If it ever creeps up from 0TDS then the resin needs to be changed.

In an RO only set up people tend to measure going into the RO membrane and coming out of it. That way you know for sure if your pre-filters are going or if your membrane is bad.

I have the same one as sharkboy and it seems to work real well.

Mike - your approach is right on!
