right now its covered in kenya tree coral and a medium sized zoanthid colony. im going to peel off the kenya tree and put it in my live rock tank. if it lives ill trade it off or sell it for practically nothing. 5$ any size frag cheap.

once the kenya tree is erradicated, i plan on making this an LSP and SPS tank with ricordia and zoanthids covering the spots where i cant place SPS.

ive never tried my hand at SPS before so im going to start really slow. i plan on purchasing a few SPS frags tomorrow and seeing how they like my tank.

for now, here are some pictures of how im probably going to keep the rock. these pictures were taken under a 400watt 12k bulb on a 175 watt ballast. my 20k 150 watt bulb stopped working and i got this bulb cheap. im probably going to go with a 12k bulb since i dont want it as blue as a 14k.

camera is a sony cybershot dsc-h2 with no lens. i havent decided which i want to get and since the ones i want are over 200 a piece, i cant exactly buy em all at once. that would be nice though :)

the front of the tank with a flash.

heres a picture of the tank without the flash. i had a 10k pc bulb in the front. thats the reason for the 2 tone look :)

Heres another flash shot. you can see one of the many kenya tree pieces in the lower right corner of the picture.

heres one of the hermits cleaning up. theres roughly 80 or so hermits in this tank and about 50 pounds of live rock in the display along with 5 to 7 pounds of rubble in the sump. also, 20 pounds of sand makes up the sand bed.

you can see the clarkii clown in this picture.

thats all for now. more to come once i get a whiter bulb and some SPS :)

Why run a 400W bulb on a 175W ballast. Wouldn't you get better light on a 175 bulb that was pushed to where it's suposed to be vs. a bulb that's barely got enough juice to get fired?

i dont know where to hide it. it puts out so much flow that if i relocate it anywhere lower it starts to stir the sandbed. im going to replace the stock pump thats in my aquapod with it, but im going to throw another mj 1200 in its place.im probably going to buy a magnetic holder for it and put it in the corner and try and work something out. since i got an SPS frag in my tank now and i read that flow = important for SPS, i cant afford to lose the flow thats in there.

Build a fake rock to cover it. Or just find a rock with a hole (or drill one) and hide it behind that.

i can put to use the tools ive been purchasing lately. this idea of drilling a hole in a rock intrigues me.

ok. i redid the rockwork because i did some kenya tree mowing. i also retro fitted in the 2 x 40 watt ballasts that were on the original aquapod hood. only one ballast is running right now and its using a 10k bulb. im not sure if im going to use 2 x 10k pc's or just leave it at one. the one 10k bulb i added really helped to take out the blue and give it more of a white/blue look

I see that now you are selling it are you moving on to bigger tanks? I love my BC29 nano. Some of them on Nano-reef.com rival larger reef systems with their simplicity and beauty. Have fun with your next project o' fun, what ever that may be.
