im assuming you mean we all chip in, buy what we want so we all get some kind of benefit out of it like cheap coral or free shipping right?

if so, i would like to order a frag or 2. how do you go about this?

I ordered some cool palys red wines, ppe, mohawks (variable star), AOG let you all know hoe they look. Ive seen a lot of pics but I have never seen in person. Lighting and the popular photoshop always throws me off : )

i simply have to many financial committments over the next few weeks... but in june, I would be up for a group order to atlantis aquarium, reefkingdom, reefermadness, or extreme corals, aquadesignz...

any of those guys, but atlantis seems to have an awesome selection accross the board, so they would be tops on my list, also tops is reefkingdom just for palys... and extreme corals has had some really nice stuff too.

man the rainbow ones are cool but 50 per polp

Ram_Puppy
Tue, 15th May 2007, 05:59 PM
urban, don't spend that. both BC and I have the rainbows... they are not super fast growers, but they arent slow either.. once we get our colonies going i am sure we will be willing to frag out at a more reasonable price. (I know i am! :) )

I have some other cool ones too...

this one grows slower than diamonds form.. I have exactly ONE and have had that many for 8 months!!!! he does eat though.
https://reefer.powweb.com/catalog/images/mohalkFINAL.jpg

also a slow growing colony
https://reefer.powweb.com/catalog/images/PurpleEyedPinks.jpg

unfortunately, I lost this colony, but they looked so much better in person i will be re-ordering - FRICKIN URCHIN!!! GRRR

https://reefer.powweb.com/catalog/images/alienpalys.jpg

reefkingdoms selection has really gone through the floor, they used to have about 10 times as much stuff limited, I know the guy aquacultures his stuff so I am wondering if he had a disaster, or if it's just unavailable right now.

Wow, those are cool. Names? 3rd pic, Green PE? (considering the broken link)

BTW, seems that there are a lot of cool palys/zoas among the MAAST members, maybe we can plan a paly swap and spread out the faves for conservation, insurance, diversity, etc.

buuckycat & biocube & sean have the first dibs since i talked about it w/ them first... but as slow growing as some of these are i don't know how long it will be until they are ready to be fragged. :( i want a growth explosion now!

I do think that is a darn skippy idea!

Wed, 16th May 2007, 09:04 AM
lol, I allready did! :)

most of my palys came from www.reefkingdom.com For some reason they are low on stock right now, maybe they sold out.

other great online shops:

http://www.atlantisaquarium.net/ <- have ordered from in the past
http://www.extremecorals.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc <-- want to order from
http://www.aquadesignz.com/ <-- have wanted to order for a while but people always beat me to the cool stuff.

in all honesty i would have made another order to either reefkingdom or atlantis a couple weeks ago, but CB Pets has just had a TON of awesome coral in lately so I have been getting ORA & Sea World stuff from them.

careful with a few of those places. I know some of them are located in california, where they get zoa colonies from the wholesale stores there, and man some of them got nasty stuff on there, and the zoas end up dying from fungus...

Just checked out the post napier did on the for sale forum. He has some awesome looking zoas.

Mohawk on ebay, 25-30 polyps, 300 + shipping (the fragger is in Freeport). Buy it now. Authentic?
If it were, now that would be a group order/roadtrip.
If we could only round up six people.

Any Mohawkers care to take a look and confirm ID?

BioCube14
Mon, 21st May 2007, 10:53 PM

stoneroller
Tue, 22nd May 2007, 11:02 PM
They look similar to the zoafrag mohawks (http://www.zoafrag.com/zoanthids_8.html#content), not?

zoa frag is not bad shipping sucks though $45 for just a couple frags makes u wonder if it was worth it I try to stick with sellers that dont have a business and shipping would be more like $25.

ok, well, my mohawk is now about the size of a ladybug... which, believe it or not, is bigger than it was a couple weeks ago.

I can only surmise that since disconnecting the HIATT and doing some major water changes that something this palythoa needs has returned to the water.

I glued the plug it's on about halfway up in my tank, and it's getting 8 hours of 20K (closer to 14K Phoenix) light, from the halide, supplimented by some 10K T-5s - it seems to be putting on mass.

I am making a concerted effort to get some cyclopzeeze in it's mouth every other day now, not sure if i am succeeding. as slow a grower as MOHAWK appears to be, I expect it will be months in recovering, and perhaps 6 months before it starts producing new mohawks.

crossing fingers!

I am, but I wont be able to afford it until after bigbirds trip.

I plan on doing one soon!! I will probably start a new one so we don't piggy back off of this one. Will give everyone a couple weeks to jump on then I'll place an order!!! If we can get past the $250 mark shipping is free, if not $70 divide amongst a few people isn't that bad either!!

:D Shipping is actually reasonable for 8-10 items combined. Fedex itself charge $55-$65 for 3 pounder 8x8x8 box coast to coast. It's a little cheaper of course if you live in california.

Zoafrags or Zoafrag.com gives a free shipping or 50% off shipping to californias most of the time.

Also there's no way you wanna ship your live animals with USPS. I know they're cheap but oh man...they dont know how to meet their deadlines.

Try inquiring at www.fedex.com and you will see what im talking about. :)

Anybody interested in ordering from zoafrag.com???

I've got most of my nicest stuff from John / Zoafrags / Zoafrag.com and i've been buying more.

I think i may have posted some photos before. Even the Mohawks.

Oh btw, that mohawks photo on his site was taken with Flash so that we may see more of the texture than colors.

I got my Mohawks from the guy almost a year ago. :) Awesome specie.
