Anyone know of any LFS that carry filter socks in San Antonio?

O yea when i was lookin for some i ended up puttin a big net w/ white filter floss and carbon under it. Works great

I know it's kinda old but if anyone's interested...fabric store at any mall. 3 yards=$20, 9 months worth of socks without reusing them. I cut a piece of acrylic from home depot into a square, cut out the normal circle where the sock sits. Then just cut slits in the acrylic, 2 on each side with a cutting wheel and corresponding slits in the fabric. no need for drop in handles. Mine's lasted 3 yrs so far. Plus you can make socks any size you want, quick to change. Took me longer to navigate crossroads mall fabric shop than to make 10 8).

Oh yeah, forgot.....you don't have to actually sew them either if you're sewing machine challenged. just cut the fabric larger and make a "pocket". actually easier to wash and clean that way but uses lots-o-felt. Back in San Diego every fish store sells the felt in huge packs to make your own. no one sells the sock unless it's a first time-sump buyer.

Are you using just plain old felt? I've wondered why panty hose wouldn't work too.
