So now that my tank's all up and running the misses is wanting a boxfish or some seahorses or something.
What kind of setup would you guys reccomend?
I could maybe use that tank to grow some coral as well, or we could just stick to the fishes.
She wants all these little cute things that I don't really want to throw in my main tank.
Any suggestions that won't break the bank? Not looking to spend much at all on this "project"

nano cube, or just a 10-20 gallon fish tank.

I've got a 10g in the garage that I guess we could set up for her. What kind of filtration should I throw on that?
I was thinking more along the lines of a biocube or a nanocube or something.
what do y'all think?

I would go with a nano or bio cube just because its all in one place and they are so cool, if you use your 10 gallon, get a good hob filter, or Hob skimmer. a heater. lights and some sand and live rock and there you go.

I don't know about that.
Seems everything I sell goes dirt cheap.

You think a 14g is too small for a boxfish, yeah?
I guess she'll have to stick to small perculas and/or seahorses.

Our boxfish got pretty big, I don't think a 14 gal would be big enough either. Nice car.

considering that the max size for a cow or box fish is 1 foot 8 inches... yeah... 14 gallon would be to small. I think maybe a 100 to 150 would be your minimum.

Oh yeah? I've never seen them bigger than about 1". I've seen 'em smaller than 1/2", too!
You learn something new every day.

Oh yeah? I've never seen them bigger than about 1".

I haven't either, which is probably a sad condemnation of our hobby...

but maybe not... their ability to nuke a tank probably makes them a more rare fish in the hobby.

they are cute little suckers...

have you seen steve weasts fire box fish? I think that is what it is called...

it's a cold water fish from south of austrailia if memory serves.

this should have survived his tank nuke incident since it's in his cold water setup.
