My canopy gets pretty warm, i need to get some fans, any suggestion on where I can get them? the canopy is 3' by1 1/2' and 1' tall. right now all I have is t5's and CP fluorescents, but will be getting a 250 Halide pendant in the near future. so where is good place to get some fans for cheap
? i can imagine i would need two, Placement of said fans? one blowing across the top and one blowing out is what i was thinking of doing.
Second question
I am currently running two skimmers, i have a red sea prizm and a cpr bak pak run by a rio powerhead. I want a skimmer that will fit in my sump and not on the back of my tank. its a 50 gallon tank. any skimmers worth getting that get be put into a sump? a really good one, I'm working myself slowly toa full blown reef tank. all i have now is some athelia and zooanthids.

Altex sells fans that everyone here pretty much uses. Go in and tell a salesman what you are doing and they should be able to help. If they say they don't know how to help, ask someone else. I used to work there and their staff is fairly knowledgeable. Blow both fans inward. You need to blow colder air in, and force the circulation within the canopy. Also, I imagine the exhaust side would gain excess salt

As my usual response to the skimmer question. I love the ASM skimmers (Euroreef knock off) and for a tank like that you can probably get away with the G1x but the G12 usually only runs $10 to $20 more and is will do you much better.
Here's a good example

well the part where the skimmer would go is little less then 8" by 10". which is the only place it could go.

you may need to do a hang on back (HOB) style skimmer... I don't know any good brands though! :)

Maybe something like this could work. I'm not a big fan of Hang on skimmers unless you are going to hang it on your sump. Reason is a good portion of proteins end up floating to the top of your water eventually which is that ugly film you get on top without some sort of water agitation or surface skimming into a sump. If you have a sump your best way to capture this protein is while it's being flushed into the sump and put the skimmer down there.
Hope that all makes since.

Great little skimmer that uses the same pump as the HOB MCE600 and AP600. My only real complaint with it is that the collection cup is small.
