I am thinking about putting a clown in my 12gal. nano and want to get a tank-raised clown, not one from the LFS. Do any of you guys successfully breed your clowns?

First try asking the LFS to see if theirs are wild caught or tank-raised. There are a few types of clowns sold by distributors that are tank-raised. There a several types of fish that companies breed and sell instead of trying to catch them in the wild. If you look around at the online stores, they usually specify if they are tank-raised or not. As far as a local person breeding them, I think Instar was for awhile, not sure though as he is not online as often as he used to be.

Instar breeds clowns. He's your guy. He's in Floresville south of SA.
I have a single ocellaris clown from him that's still a juvenile but has been in my tank for several months. I'm going to remove it at some point for a pair of percs. If you want mine, you can have it IF we can catch it.
