ok so now that i have added another 100 lbs of rock to my tank it looks like a live rock tank from a LFS :) however im sure it has killed my flow and made dead spots gallore inside my tank i have a closed loop pushed by a 1200 gph iwaki that outputs thru 4x 3/4" locline fittings pointed in various directions. along wth a dual output from my sump that is neg. 1000 gph pump out 2xloclines my options/ideas so far are:

1. re-scape tank to take advantage of current flow
2. 2xhydor #3 one on both ends one high one low to circle the tank
3. change out iwaki for dart
4. wave 2k or wavebox
5. buy something like 12 maxijets and scatter them throughout the rock (not feasable unless i want to burn my apt down)
6. trade out some rock for more coral or a lgr pump>

let me know what other ideas are out there basically right now i have rock from the bottom of the glass in the front in a steep slope up to the surface of the water in the rear ive lost count but im guessing i have about 225-250 lbs of rock in there now and about 250lbs of L sand

i would move some of the less attractive pieces into the wet/dry or fuge so you dont lose the biofiltering capacity, and rescape the main tank. maybe cut or break some of the rocks to make them usable as short colums to get the rock up off of the sand. i did that when i rescaped my tank in january, and am amazed at how much cleaner my tank is staying.

I will relieve you of any "unneeded rock"

try drilling holes through your rocks with a masonry bit. then you can thread them over fiberglass or acrylic rods to form nice columns, and cantilevered overhangs. i used some poles from an old tent, in fact, i still have some of them if you want to try it.LMK

you can also use plastic clothes hangers - just cut them into straight pieces.

i think i used a 5/8 bit, it gives a little "wiggle room"

I think the above ideas are good (and looks like you do as well) just wanted to point out the darts have a 2" intake, so in order to plumb one in, you would have to essentially re-plumb your tank, or shorten the life of the pump by starving it.
