You can buy tickets prior to the meeting and also if you can't attend. YOU NEED NOT BE PRESENT TO WIN. If you win, a BOD in your area will have the prize for you to pick-up at his location. We have set the reserve @ $600.

We will have the paypal set-up by Thu evening to purchase tickets. Once your purchase is confirmed, we will PM your ticket numbers to you. At the time of the drawing, we will post the winning number, so everyone knows. If you are not present, you will receive a PM stating that you WON and to make arrangements with whom you need to pick-up the prize from.

We are trying to make this item accessable to ALL members by doing this and this is a very high ticket item, thus the reserve. We welcome ticket purchases of any size but the breakdown is as stated before:

1-$3
2-$5
6-$10
12-$20

Thanks for your participation.

Slightly confused. I think you are changing the raffle a bit. I once saw this for a motorcycle. Are you not setting a date anymore but instead selling $600, or more, worth of tickets before raffling it? As in if you haven't sold or met the minimum before or during the next meeting it will roll to the meeting in May?

Cool, that's what I thought but wanted to clarify as that is not what the original post said. I figured even though I understood it, maybe someone else wouldn't and then wonder why it was auctioned on Sunday.

Mike,
I was spleaking as splain as I can spleak...We want to give EVERYONE the opportunity to get in on this raffle and not sell the item short. Again, we thank Carlos @ RiverCity for this item. Seems these days these items are few and far between, we were lucky to have one last meeting from Kingfish. I know Mike(Texreefer) is happy...You should be, too. So buy as many tickets as you can...SUPPORT MAAST.

I hope this has been clarified for everyone.

Thanks for the work on this Steve. It would be great if we could do all raffles by paypal in advance if at all possible in my opinion. Then again, I brought it up a long time ago and have forgoten to re-rase the issue. I know that I seldom carry cash on me, but I can light up my bank card like nobody else for paypal and thinking ahead.

Let's see how this goes and maybe discussion for future auctions done this way.

If you withdraw funds from paypal to a checking acct, then there is no fee. That's what I do all the time. It takes a couple of days to show-up in the checking acct but saves a few dollars.

I thought the blue tickets were for the skimmer! I would never have spent 15 dollars for door prizes.... When you sell tickets for a raffle, let people know that there are two different ones to buy. God knows I wouldn't have bought them for a bottle of slime coat. Also I paid 15 for the same amount of tickets, and the door prizes were free tickets. I am still lost on this. I thought the door prize tickets were red?

LoneStar
Mon, 30th Apr 2007, 09:09 PM
Erik, they stated there were 2 different raffles going on at the meeting multiple times.

Usually at a meeting there are door prizes and a raffle for items donated to the club. The normal raffle is for higher end items and the door prizes are for lesser items. Raffle = buy tickets Door prizes = just being there ;)

Now there is a seperate and very generous raffle going on for the skimmer. Same price break down for these tickets. It was said it would take more than 1 meeting in order to raise enough money for a reserve ;) Once the reserve is met, I think Steve will start distributing the tickets through email or snail mail.....

Mon, 30th Apr 2007, 09:59 PM
I bought eight tickets that were blue, but was told that those were for the door prizes earlier. I know the door prizes were (at least I thought) red. Am I wrong or right?

BIGBIRD123
Mon, 30th Apr 2007, 10:03 PM
Here's how we will be doing this to insure things are on the up-in-up. All the raffle tickets sold will be put in a container. Then, in the order sold will be drawn out in random order by a non-participating party for each participant. These will then be put in the container for the drawing by the ticket purchaser.

For explaination purposes only:

Bob bought $100 = 60 tickets (5 times the 12 for $20)
Reba bought $20 = 12 tickets
Sally bought $40 = 24 tickets

Bob's tickets will be drawn first, then Reba's and then Sally's. These are drawn from random ticket numbers not in order. This way I will not have any dealings with the number selection being a participant.

Does anyone have any questions or is this sufficient explaination?

Thanks for your participation.

Eric,
The blue were sold to you for the raffle items and not the skimmer. There were NO tickets handed out for the skimmer. The red tickets were asigned tickets for the door prizes and noone should have had any of them as they were put into the container just for the drawing. These tickets are asigned to the MEMBER'S ONLY sign-in sheet.
